Camden, Rockport & Rockland Maine Activities

The mid-coast area surrounding the Samoset is filled with activities the whole family will enjoy. The Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center in Rockland specialize in Maine and American Art and house the personal Andrew Wyeth family art and archives. Be sure to visit The Maine Lighthouse Museum or the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Rockland and Camden have historic shopping districts lined with art galleries, boutiques and antiques.

The Camden Snowbowl at Ragged Mountain offers skiing and tobogganing. With ferry service to Vinalhaven, North Haven and Islesboro you can spend the day biking, hiking, bird watching and beachcoming.

The Rockland Breakwater and Lighthouse is adjacent to the Samoset and is a spectacular walk. Rockland is also the Schooner Capital of the World, being home to more beautiful windjammers than anywhere else! Take a sail or just view their elegance as they sail past Rockland, Maine's Breakwater Light.
